Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role within the ORIGO?

What is your title? Resource Advisor

What does a typical day at work look like for you? Each day is different! It can be anything from doing presentations, to meeting with school districts, to meeting with pilot teachers and administrators, to working with my team internally on a project.

How long have you been a part of the ORIGO team? Almost 2 years

What motivated you to join the ORIGO team? It really just felt right. Throughout the interview process, it became more evident to me that this is where I wanted to be. The people here are all working towards making the best elementary math curriculum and utilizing the spaced learning concept to do so. I wanted to be a part of that!

Can you tell us about your past teaching experience? While it was short lived, it was impactful. I taught 18-24 month old disabled children for 9 months.

What was your favorite thing about teaching? Seeing a student’s face light up when they could do something they weren’t able to before, that was always the best! Also, seeing a student learn and do the morning classroom routine instead of crying when their parent left. Watching that growth never got old!

Any inspiring stories to share? There are so many! But a favorite is when one student was able to stack blocks instead of just knock them down. This was a huge accomplishment in her development!

Are there any specific projects or initiatives that you’ve worked on at ORIGO that you feel particularly proud of? I’m really proud of the Internal Playbook. It’s a great resource for new hires, and houses so much information from internal processes to pilots to presentations and beyond.

What’s your favorite part of your job? The people I work with are next level awesome! It’s also fun when a district is looking at samples and loves what they see. Then, getting the phone call or email that they’ve chosen ORIGO Stepping Stones, that’s definitely a favorite part of the job!

What’s your favorite thing about ORIGO? I love that ORIGO isn’t afraid to be different. By basing Stepping Stones around the spaced learning concept, we’re different. And I believe better. The proof is in the research!

What’s your favorite ORIGO product and why? I cannot possibly choose one! I love them all for different reasons. To name a few, Book and Box of Fact Strategies and Think Tanks are top notch supplemental products that compliment any core curriculum. And I love how Stepping Stones Pre-K is centered around the concept of play!

If you had to be one of ORIGO’s characters- which one would you be and why? The cat because he’s sporty! I love to watch sports!

If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be and why? Being invisible! I’m not really sure why, I think maybe because flying would scare me too much!

Be sure to check back next week for another ORIGO Employee Spotlight!
